Refund Policy
Buy the wrong course, or change your mind before you start it, and you get your money back. Once a certificate has been issued, the credit has been delivered and the sale is final. Everything in between is set out below.
The short version. Unstarted course, within 30 days: full refund. Started but under 25% complete, within 30 days: full refund. Certificate issued: no refund. Charged twice or charged in error: refunded in full, always.
Individual course purchases
- Not started. If you have not opened a lesson, you can request a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
- Barely started. If you have completed less than 25% of the course seat time and have not attempted the final test, you can request a full refund within 30 days.
- Substantially used. Past 25% completion, or once the final test has been attempted, the course is not refundable — the material has been consumed and, in most states, the seat time is already on your record.
- Certificate issued. No refund. The certificate is the thing you bought, and once issued it cannot be recalled from you or from a board that has already received the completion.
- Access period ended. A course whose access period has expired unused is not refundable, but tell us before it expires and we will usually extend it instead.
Always refunded
- Duplicate purchases. Bought the same course twice, or were charged twice for one order — the extra charge is refunded in full, whatever your progress.
- Unauthorized charges. A charge you did not make is refunded in full and the account secured.
- Course withdrawn. If we withdraw a course you have not finished, you may finish it or take a refund of the unused portion.
- We could not deliver. If a technical fault on our side prevents you from completing a course and we cannot fix it, you get a full refund regardless of progress.
What a refund does not cover
- Approval you did not check. Each course page lists the states and categories it is approved in before you buy. Buying a course that carries no credit in your state is refundable under the normal rules above, not as a special case — so check first, and ask us if it is unclear.
- A board rejecting a completion. If your board declines a completion that our course was approved for, contact us — that is a problem we will investigate and, where it is ours, fix or refund. A completion rejected because of something on your side (an expired license, a wrong category, a missed deadline) is not refundable.
- Accounts closed for misuse. Where we close an account for breaching the seat-time or acceptable-use rules in our Terms of Service, purchases are not refunded.
Company seats and bulk purchases
- Seats that have not been assigned to an employee are refundable within 30 days of purchase.
- A seat that has been assigned but not used — no lesson opened — can be unassigned and returned to the pool at no cost, or refunded within the same 30 days.
- Seats where the employee has begun the course follow the individual rules above, measured per seat.
- Where a written enterprise agreement sets different terms, that agreement governs.
How to request a refund
- Email info@a1k1.com from the address on your account.
- Include your order number (from your receipt or your order history) and the course name.
- Tell us briefly what went wrong — it is how we stop it happening to the next person.
We respond within two business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. Access to a refunded course ends when the refund is issued.
Before you file a chargeback
Please contact us first. A chargeback freezes the account while the bank investigates, which can take weeks and may cost you access to certificates you still need — where a refund would have taken days. We would rather just refund you.
