Cookie Policy
We use the smallest set of cookies that lets you sign in, stay signed in, and pay. There are no advertising cookies on this site, and nothing here tracks you across other people's websites.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser and reads back on your next request. It is how a website remembers that the person loading this page is the same person who signed in a minute ago. We also use your browser's local storage for a few display preferences, which works the same way but never leaves your device.
The cookies we set
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
has_session | Tells the app and the server that you are signed in, so protected pages render instead of flashing a login screen. It holds no personal data — it is a flag. | Matches your sign-in session; cleared on sign-out |
refresh_token | Keeps you signed in without re-entering your password, and is exchanged for a new access token when the old one expires. Set by our API, marked HttpOnly so no script — ours or anyone else's — can read it. | Session lifetime set by the server; cleared on sign-out |
Both are strictly necessary: block them and you cannot stay signed in, which means no courses and no certificates.
Cookies set by our processors
| Set by | Where | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Checkout | Processes your payment and detects card fraud. Stripe's cookies are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. |
| hCaptcha | Sign-up | Distinguishes people from bots so automated sign-ups cannot flood the platform. |
What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No third-party trackers following you to other sites.
- No selling or sharing of cookie data — see our Privacy Policy.
Controlling cookies
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its privacy settings. Because the two cookies above are the ones that keep you signed in, blocking them will stop you from using the platform — the sign-in will appear to succeed and then immediately forget you. If that is what you are seeing, cookie blocking (or private browsing with strict settings) is almost always the cause.
Changes
If we add a cookie, this page is updated before it ships. The date at the top shows the current version.
