Frequently asked questions

The questions support gets most often, answered in full. For step-by-step guidance, start at the Help Center.

Courses and credit

Will this course renew my license?

Only if it is approved in your state for the category you hold. Every course page lists the states and license categories it is approved in and the number of credit hours it carries — check that against your renewal requirements before you buy. The state map on the home page shows, per state, how many of our courses count there.

Why does a course say it carries no CEU credit in my state?

Approval is granted state by state. A course we have not submitted for approval in your state — or that your state has not approved — carries no credit there, even though the material is the same. You can still take it as training; it simply will not count toward renewal. We label this on the course page rather than leaving you to find out afterwards.

How long do I have to finish a course after buying it?

Access runs for the period shown on the course page at purchase. If you need longer because of illness, deployment or a work emergency, contact support before your access ends and we will extend it where the course approval allows.

Do you report my completion to the state board?

It depends on the state and the course. Some boards accept electronic reporting from approved providers; others require the license holder to submit the certificate. Your course page says which applies, and support can confirm before your deadline. Either way, keep your certificate — it is the record you can always produce.

Watching lessons

Why can't I skip ahead in a video?

Because credit is granted for seat time, not for reaching the end of a file. State boards require providers to demonstrate that the learner was present for the material, so the player will not let you scrub past the furthest point you have actually watched. Going back over something you have already seen is always allowed.

What is the “Still watching?” prompt?

A presence check. If there is no activity for about two minutes, playback stops and a prompt asks you to confirm you are still there. Confirming resumes exactly where you left off; nothing is lost, and the paused time is not counted toward your hours. It is a blocking prompt on purpose — a dismissible banner would not be evidence of anything.

Can I watch on my phone, or on more than one device?

Yes to a phone or tablet — the player works in any current mobile browser. Not at the same time, though: an account can only be signed in on one device at a time, and signing in somewhere new ends the earlier session. Your progress follows the account, so you can stop on a laptop and pick up on a phone.

Does my progress save if I close the tab?

Yes. Watched time is recorded roughly once a minute while the video plays, so at most the final minute before an abrupt close is lost. Reopening the lesson resumes from the recorded position.

Tests and certificates

What happens if I fail the test?

You can retake it. The number of attempts and any waiting period between them are set by the course — and, where the state regulates it, by the board — and both are shown before you start an attempt. Practice tests are unlimited and are never part of your record.

Where is my certificate?

Under My Learning, as soon as the course requirements are met — all seat time completed and the final test passed. From there you can view it, print it, or save it as a PDF. If a course shows complete but no certificate has been issued, check whether the final test is still outstanding, then contact support.

Can I get a certificate reissued?

Certificates stay in your account indefinitely, so a reissue is rarely needed — sign in and download it again. If a name or license number on the certificate is wrong, correct it in your account and contact support so the record can be reissued against the corrected details.

Billing

What payment methods do you accept?

Major credit and debit cards, processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's own secure form — PestSchool never receives or stores your card number. Companies buying seats in volume can arrange invoicing; contact us for that.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within the window and conditions set out in our Refund Policy — in short: unstarted courses are refundable for 30 days, and a course whose certificate has already been issued is not, because the credit has already been delivered.

I was charged twice.

Email us with the order numbers and we will refund the duplicate in full. Duplicate charges are outside the normal refund conditions — there is nothing for you to have used twice.

Company accounts

How do employees join our company account?

An administrator invites them by email. The invitation link ties the new account to the company, so assigned courses and seats apply from first sign-in. An employee who already has a personal PestSchool account can accept the invitation with it.

What can our administrators see about employees?

Course assignments, progress, completions and certificates earned on company-purchased seats — the information an employer needs to prove its workforce is trained. They do not see personal account details beyond name and work email, and they do not see courses an employee bought personally.

Do company-authored courses carry CEU credit?

No, unless the course itself says so. Courses a company creates for its own staff are internal training: they are tracked and certified within the company account, but they are not state-approved continuing education and will not renew a license.
